Responsibilities

– Reports to Procurement Manager
– 14 staff in team
– Negotiate pricing, terms, and vendor contracts while managing strategic suppliers.
– Procure materials, components, and services at the lowest cost, ensuring quality and reliability.
– Expedite orders and ensure timely receipt of materials.
– Analyze proposals, negotiate prices, and adjust orders as needed.
– Follow up on orders, verify deliveries, approve payments, and maintain records.
– Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering to maintain inventory levels.
– Resolve material accounting and receiving issues.
– Implement process improvements for procurement functions.
– Assist in ISO documentation development.
– Escalate material planning issues to management.
– Maintain inventory, minimize excess stock, and analyze demand.
– Provide cost-reduction strategies to engineering.
– Communicate material knowledge with engineers and suppliers.
– Demonstrate procurement expertise and broaden capabilities.
– Guide new team members informally.
– Solve routine problems using technical expertise.
– Ensure quality work while adhering to policies and guidelines.
– Explain complex information in simple terms.

Qualifications

– 5+ years of experience handling procurement, purchasing, SCM, or relevant experience
– Native Japanese
– Business-level English
– SCM, trade administration, logistics-related work, order placement experience
– Skills: Excel (VLOOKUP, PIIVOT), friendly and prompt communication with multiple stakeholders
– Experience with SAP or similar ERP is a plus!
