Responsibilities

– Reports to Head of SCM
– 6 staff in team
– Monitor route, lead-time, and freight for ocean shipments; request HQ/overseas facilities to choose the most efficient option.
– Manage all relevant import documents in coordination with local customs brokers and schedule the earliest customs clearance.
– Arrange food inspection required for imports.
– Take prompt actions to avoid shipping delays and shortages.
– Manage EPA/TPP tasks.
– Place orders in SAP for both local production and import products, in coordination with SCM and the Demand Planner.
– Coordinate with overseas company counterparts to ensure reliable and timely container scheduling.
– Closely monitor loading quantities, open quantities, and delivery schedules.
– Track all imports at SKU level to support SCM and Demand Planner in matching demand and local production schedules.
– Update daily/weekly/monthly stock based on external warehouse data.
– Reconcile external warehouse stock data with company SAP data.
– Handle write-offs and return orders.

Qualifications

– 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in an international environment
– University graduate
– Fluent in Japanese and proficient in business English
– Experience in the importation of food-related products is a plus!
– Solid experience with SAP
– Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Team-oriented with a strong team player mentality

– Excellent IT skills (SAP, Excel)
