Responsibilities

Position: Regional Head of HR
Report: Regional President in Japan and Global HR Head in HQ overseas
Team: Managing a small team of direct reports

– Implement and direct HR strategies and programs to attract, manage, develop, and retain employees, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
– Liaise with managers to develop local HR strategies and lead a team of HR professionals to effectively implement these strategies.
– Network internally and externally to stay updated on laws, regulations, and market trends, while managing labor union relationships.
– Participate as a member of the management team, handling all people-related projects and decisions.
– Design and implement HR initiatives to improve work culture, motivation, and morale.
– Ensure HR and legal compliance, acting as HR Business Partner for leaders in the region
– Manage and coordinate global HR projects and activities locally.
– Oversee core HR policies and processes, including talent management, performance management, and diversity initiatives.
– Conduct recruitment activities and manage onboarding processes.
– Administer payroll and local benefit programs, ensuring confidentiality and compliance. (together with team doing hand-on work)
– Act as a change agent, supporting managers in driving change and offering expertise.

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree or higher
– Business level English
– 10+ years HR experience
– Strong communication skills
– Good PC skills
– Strong labor law knowledge
– B2B / Manufacturing / Industrial trading industry experience preferred
