Responsibilities

Reporting and Analysis

• Consolidate financial reports from various entities within the APAC region
• Work with the Finance Manager to develop and manage corporate plans and forecasts, monitoring actual results against plans and forecasts to identify variances for resolution.
• Generate timely financial statements and monthly reports for management teams locally and overseas, ensuring compliance with companies standard reporting.
• Present financial analysis for the monthly results against the plans and forecasts.
• Standardize reporting and analytical formats across the region.

 

Team Management

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance Manager, overseeing their activities and ensuring their professional development.
• Drive robust relationship and effective communications amongst the regional Finance Managers to share best practice in a day-to-day activity.

 

Statutory and Cash

• Manage cash flow responsibilities, including forecasting cash flow requirements, overseeing bank account administration, and submitting cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory reporting requirements, maintaining adequate records and preparing information for statutory, and local tax filings.
• Lead compliance and internal audit activities, conducting reviews of corporate controls, designing and implementing control systems and processes, and providing recommendations for improvement.

 

Commercial Finance

• Support Management Team in negotiations with the existing clients and act as a key coordinator.
• Coordinate compelling commercial proposals to drive business development in the region.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance Managers to control project expense.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of overall experience with solid financial accounting and commercial finance, preferably including experience in SAP.
• Technical knowledge of finance and accounting, including Japan GAAP, statutory reporting, internal control assessments, and tax laws.
• Strong planning, reporting, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage processes and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a small team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Spreadsheet.
• Fluency in both English and Japanese languages is essential.
